Mortal Kombat Karnage is a flash game remake of the popular franchise Mortal Kombat (MK). The sequel is also confirmed to feature the debut of Damon Herriman's Quan Chi, a sorcerer unaligned with either Earthrealm or Outworld who has fortresses located in Outworld and the Netherrealm. With much of Mortal Kombat 2's new key cast members consisting of Outworld's most threatening warriors, the location in Garner's post could be an environment from that realm with ties to one of the new characters, such as Shao Khan's own reconstruction of the Temple/Cathedral seen in Mortal Kombat 3 and 9. These characters include Gabrielle and Rudolph's Jade and Kitana, assassins of Outworld emperor and franchise villain Shao Khan, who is set to be portrayed by Martyn Ford. While Mortal Kombat was largely set on Earthrealm, Mortal Kombat 2 is set to expand and explore the wider universe of the franchise, as new fighters from across the realm of Outworld step up to join the tournament.
